Several months ago I evaluated a new product from Advanced Technology International (ATI) the innovative company located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, that most of us know from their many gun stock offerings.

I was pretty impressed with both the stock and the company personnel who really listened to what I had to say. They proved themselves to me to be a very responsive organization.
It's not often however that I see a company continue to refine and perfect an already excellent product but that's exactly what the folks at ATI have done.
Recently, I had an opportunity to evaluate an even better model of the Adjustable Hunting Stock (AHS). After several months of being on the market, there were a couple of features that the engineers at ATI thought they could improve to make an even better product for hunters and shooters.
The first and to me the most dramatic, was a revamped recoil pad. The first pad was pretty hard but the "footprint" was large and recoil was distributed over a pretty large area to reduce the "perceived" push.
The new design has a much more rounded and pleasant appearance and it's much softer. I installed the new and improved version of the AHS on my 12 gauge Remington 870 Express and took it to the range with a box of 3" turkey shotshells to try the new pad.
The first thing that I noticed was that it came to the shoulder much more easily and fit into the pocket of my shoulder very naturally. Even better however was what happened when I fired the gun. There was more of a push than a jolt with the new pad. I like it!
The second improvement that was made to AHS was a better fit of the plugs that cover the adjustment screws for the adjustable comb. Quite frankly, I'd not had any problem with these coming loose but I understand there were some reports of that by some shooters. Mine fit just fine and in my range work the new ones did not loosen in any way that I could detect.
Again, ATI has taken an already excellent product and made some subtle improvements to make it even better for us as shooters and hunters.
Whenever I take my AHS equipped gun to a shoot it immediately draws attention from shooters of all ages and experience levels. First of all it's cool looking, secondly it allows hunters of all sizes to customize the fit. When I talk to them about the stock I can also say it's made by a company that listens!
