The fastest growing sport within the shooting fraternity may be Still Target Shooting. In this contest, shooters must shoot at a 3" circle, 40 yards away, using a shotgun with no mechanical rest of any kind. Only pellets in the center of the 3" circle that do not touch a line are counted. It's a demanding dicipline. Those who make it to the top shoot scores or even hundreds of rounds of 3" full power ammo each year. Many travel to different states to compete to win "seats" in the Grand National and World Championship Still Target Shoot.
