I remember when a flashlight was a pretty unreliable tool. Sometimes they worked and sometimes they didn't. If you left one in a drawer or similar place, you might find that when you most needed it, the batteries had leaked, the flashlight didn't work and it may have ruined other things that were close to it.
Okay, that was a few decades ago but it's sometimes important to remember where we were and where we are now when it comes to tools that can literally save our lives in an emergency as well as make life more comfortable in everyday situations.
That noise in the night that needs to be investigated or the lost ball that your grandson just has to have now can all call for a good, bright and reliable light.
A few weeks ago, I started using the Cyclops Revo 1100 LED Hand Held Spotlight. When it says, “hand held” that's exactly what it means and it doesn't take both hands like some of these high output lights used to take. There I go again!
Okay, the real test of any light is how well it works for you when you need it, right? The best way that I could think of to test reliability was to charge the Revo 1100 and then and leave it for a time, until I needed it. So, that's exactly what I did. However, I added one twist. I left it out in my office, in full view of everyone, including my 2 grandsons, who are always interested in anything new.
They were both pretty interested in this new light, especially when they saw the removable red lens that's included. I told them to feel free to take a look and see how it worked for them. They did just that and there were few places in the house that went unexplored.
Next, I put the Revo 1100 in a drawer and left it for a couple of weeks. When I took it out, it still had plenty of life left in it and it was put to good use on a couple of pretty dark nights.
The Revo 1110 does include both a home and car charging unit, so on my next road trip I'll give it a full charge using the DC adapter, so it's ready for any emergency.
This is a very good light. It's easy to charge, easy to use, can be handled by anyone from a youngster to to a senior and is very reliable. It puts out some serious light and if that bump in the night turns out to be more than our cat looking for food, I know I'll be able to see what it is.
