Michigan State Still Target Shoot

Activities and Exhibits

The Michigan State Champion

The Michigan State Still Target Championship shoot was very enjoyable. I was able to spend some time with my son and daughter-in-law and shoot with a great bunch of folks. I was also very fortunate to walk away with the Open and Hunter championships.

I met a great group of dedicated shooters in Michigan. They have a wonderful facility and run an excellent program. It's an event that needs to be continued. I know I'll sure tell every shooter that I know about it.

The day started with sunshine but quickly turned into a downpour of drenching cold rain. Fortunately there was excellent shelter when we weren't shooting. The rain did not discourage the competitors and we just kept on shooting.

We shot 3" Winchester shells with 2 oz. of #6 shot. That's an economical shell that most guns/chokes shoot very well. Scores were very good and it was a real competition down to the final shots.

It was a great shoot and I'd really like to thank those folks in Michigan for making me feel so welcome. I look forward to making this a regular event.
