Government Relations

  • NSSF and SAAMI last week filed a brief in the California Supreme Court in the ongoing microstamping suit against the State of California. NSSF and SAAMI seek an injunction on grounds the microstamping law is arbitrary and a standard set that is simply impossible to meet.
     
  • Responding to U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris' (D-Calif.) call for a renewed Clinton-era “assault weapons ban," NSSF’s Larry Keane put the facts against rhetoric with FBI’s Uniform Crime Report showing that modern sporting rifles aren’t the problem.
     
  • U.S. Deputy Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt announced more than $52 million for tribal and state wildlife conservation programs through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to benefit a variety of species and habitat.
     
  • In a letter to the editor, NSSF’s Larry Keane reminds anti-hunting activists that it is the firearms and ammunition industry that has been working for decades to bring eagles back to the skies across America.
