Aiken, SC-When O.F Mossberg & Sons teamed with the Robertson family to launch the Duck Commander Signature Series in 2013, the company knew they were joining forces with a marketing powerhouse. What they did not realize was they would receive the services of a nearly full-time field tester in the bargain.
Duck Commander Patriarch Phil Robertson hunted every day of the 2013-2014 Louisiana duck season and the shotgun he used and trusted most was his Mossberg Duck Commander Signature Series Model 930. Thanks to the generosity of Mr. Robertson and Mossberg, Mr. Robertson's well-used Model 930 will be paired with the newly released Mossberg DC Pro Series 930 to serve as an "Old & New DC Signature Package" for the 2015 SHOT Show Auction .
"This Duck Commander Signature Series 930 has proven to be a good and loyal duck hunting companion and I'm happy to donate it back to my friends at Mossberg so it can be auctioned to help raise funds in support of our hunting and shooting sports heritage," Robertson said. " Although I've been known to be generous at times, I'm also inclined to be practical and I wasn't about to let go of my Model 930 until the guys at Mossberg promised to fix me up with a new 2015 DC Pro Series. As much as I liked my old 930, I look forward to field testing the new model."
The new Duck Commander Pro Series shotguns include a number of upgraded parts and finishes that were developed in conjunction with Champion Shooter Jerry Miculek for the JM Pro Series of Mossberg shotguns. Though the parts were designed for the rigors of 3-Gun competition, the resistance to corrosion, lubricity of the finishes and ease of cleaning offered by Boron Nitride finishes coupled with upgraded finishing on internal parts, and an expanded loading port for lightning fast reloads are options that hard core ducks hunters will also appreciate. In addition to these changes, the DC Pro Series also adds a stainless steel return spring to ensure reliable operation all season long.
By combining the best of their competition shotgun with the ruggedness of the Duck Commander 930, Mossberg has created the ultimate duck-hunting semi-auto.
Robertson's Signature Model 930 is personally signed by him and will be accompanied by a personalized engraved Kick's choke tube, engraved with the Commander's name, and Certificate of Authenticity designating the serial number of the gun and attesting that Robertson used the gun throughout the Louisiana 2013-2014 waterfowling seasons. The high bidder will also receive a signed Duck Commander 930 poster signed by Mr. Robertson.
In keeping with SHOT Show auction tradition, this pair of Mossberg Signature Editions will be auctioned exclusively on GunBroker.com at http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=462325265
