Primarily, I am a hunter and a shooter, having done both for several decades. For the last 15 years or so, I’ve devoted much of my time to the study of shotguns, shotshells and choke tubes. That has allowed me to evaluate most of the different brands of shotguns, the effects of different barrel lengths, various shotshells and, as far as I can determine, most (if not all) of the brands of choke tubes available commercially.
Much of my time has been devoted to the various chokes manufactured for the sport of turkey hunting. In the late ’90s I discovered the sport of still target shooting and have participated in that sport in many different states. I’ve shot in the World Championship for the last several years, along the way winning a world championship and setting three world records.
As an outdoor writer, I also evaluate many new and existing products from various manufacturers and publish “Product Test” articles outlining my findings. This has become an increasingly important part of allaboutshooting.
This is an exciting time for hunters and shooters. Manufacturers have introduced many new shotguns, shotshells and related shooting items over the past several years, and I see no sign of that slowing down. Many of these products have made our life easier and our shooting more effective.
